How This Live Tracker Works
This isn't a static blog post from three years ago. This page is hooked directly into our live database tracking the menus of 144 licensed coffeeshops across Amsterdam. As coffeeshops update their stock, adjust their prices, or drop new harvests, this table updates automatically.
To find the "Best Value" for each shop, our algorithm does the following:
- Identifies the Strain: We look at every item on a shop's menu.
- Calculates the City Average: We compare the shop's asking price against the real-time average price for that exact same strain across the entire city.
- Ranks the Spread: The strain with the biggest negative spread (meaning it's priced the furthest below the city average) is crowned that shop's Best Value Strain.
